Cyclone Fani: 3 Dead in Odisha, PM Says Have Released Relief Funds

Cyclone Fani which made landfall in Odisha in the early hours of Friday, 3 May, killed three people, reported PTI.

Large areas in Puri and other places were submerged as heavy rains battered the entire coastal belt of the state. The Odisha state government has advised people not to step out of their houses.

Addressing a poll rally in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the central government is in constant touch with the state governments of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal for relief and rescue of operations. He also added that the centre has released Rs 1,000 crore relief fund in advance for the states.
